I love creating and working on new and fun concepts and then bringing them to life on the bench!
Hometown:
Washington born and (almost) raised. I grew up in a few different towns but the start of my journey began in Bellingham Washington. A gorgeous coastal city, near the Canadian border that’s full of hikes that lead to amazing mountain or ocean views. If you have a chance to visit, I highly recommend it! I also spent a few years of my childhood in Susanville, California and Chillicothe, Ohio.
What Inspires Me:
I’ve always had a passion for food and so has my family. As a kid I would watch French cooking shows on PBS, anything on Food Network, and read my grandma’s cookbooks instead of watching cartoons. I would always want to be in the kitchen baking or helping with dinner. As an adult not a lot has changed, I love reading cookbooks cover to cover and experimenting in the kitchen with new flavors and ingredients.
Guiltiest Food Pleasure:
This one is easy - nacho cheese and movie theatre popcorn for the win!
Areas of Specialization:
I have experience working in the frozen food space on value added seafood, appetizers, single serve meals, meal kits, and various frozen breakfast products (sandwiches, bowls, bakery). I’ve also worked on fresh refrigerated seafood items, ready to eat salads and sandwiches, and bakery products.
When I'm Not in the Office:
I’m spending time with friends and family hanging out or doing some sort of outdoor adventure. My husband and I are a part of the local Motocross races (well he rides…I’m his pit crew) so we spend a lot of time going to races and working on the bikes. It’s a blast (unless it’s raining)!
Education:
- Bachelor of Science, Food Science - Washington State University, Pullman, WA
